Amara Okafor is a playwright and screenwriter from Lagos who came to prose fiction as a way of writing the silences that stage directions cannot capture. Her dramatic fiction moves between generations of a single family across three continents, holding grief and joy in the same sentence without forcing a resolution. She is a two-time recipient of the West African Literary Prize for Drama.
