OutaStory is a platform on which authors and other members publish their own content. The stories, chapters, comments, and other contributions published by members are user-generated content. The respective authors and members are responsible for the content they publish; it does not represent the opinion of OutaStory GmbH, and we do not adopt it as our own.
As a host provider, OutaStory GmbH is not obliged under Sections 7 to 10 of the German Digital Services Act (DDG) to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under the general laws remain unaffected. As soon as we become aware of a specific infringement, we will remove the content concerned without undue delay. You can report unlawful content to us at any time using the in-app reporting tools or by email.
Marketplace and Payout Tax Reporting
OutaStory operates a marketplace through which authors and professional speakers can earn payouts. Where you receive such earnings, you remain responsible for declaring and paying any taxes due on your income in your country of residence.
As a digital platform operator, OutaStory GmbH is subject to the platform-operator reporting obligations under the EU Directive DAC7 (in Germany, the Platform Tax Transparency Act, Plattformen-Steuertransparenzgesetz, PStTG). Once the statutory thresholds are crossed, we are required to report the relevant earnings and identifying details of reportable sellers to the German Federal Central Tax Office (Bundeszentralamt für Steuern, BZSt), which may exchange this information with the tax authorities of other EU member states.
Consumer Dispute Resolution
