Marthe Dvořák writes Central European historical fiction about the women who worked the rivers, the trams, the kitchens of embassies in the twentieth century — the invisible infrastructure of occupation, liberation, and the uneasy decades in between. She is Prague-born, trained as a historian, and writes from primary sources in four languages.
