OutaStory tells you about new chapters, replies, and other things you
care about — and gives you fine control over what reaches you.
The notification centre
Everything shows up in your notification centre at
/notifications. Open it to catch up on anything that
happened while you were away; unread items are marked, and you can clear
them once you've seen them.
Turning on push
Want to be nudged even when OutaStory is closed? Enable push
notifications so alerts arrive on your device. You'll be asked to allow
notifications the first time — if you dismissed that prompt, you can turn
push back on from your notification settings.
Fine-tuning what you get
Open Settings → Notifications at
/settings/notifications to decide exactly
what you're told about:
Every kind of notification is listed separately — new chapters and new
installments, replies to your comments, likes, follows, milestones,
trophies, narration that has finished, the newsletters, and resume
reading reminders — and each one can be switched on or off per channel
(in-app, push, email).
Account and security notices are the exception: those are always sent.
A brand-new account with nothing saved yet has everything switched on,
so the first thing worth doing is turning off whatever you don't want.
