Part 4 of 4
Want to try the writing side? Here's how to go from a blank page to a
published story.
Start a draft
- Make sure you're signed in.
- Go to Write (you'll find it in the menu).
- Give your story a title and start typing your first chapter. Your
work saves automatically as you go. - Add more chapters whenever you like using the add chapter button.
Publish it
When you're happy with your draft, click Publish and follow the
steps — each one is a single, simple screen:
- Details — write a short description, choose a category,
set an age rating, and add a few tags. (Description and age
rating are required, so the button to continue stays greyed out until
they're filled in.) - Cover — pick a colour cover, or let OutaStory generate one for
you. - Audio (optional) — if audio narration is switched on, you can
choose a voice. If it isn't, this step is skipped automatically. - Writer terms — the first time you publish, you'll agree to a short
set of writer terms. After that, this step is skipped. - Review — a final check. Click Publish and your story goes
live.
After publishing
- Your story appears on your author page and in the discover lists.
- If you generated audio, the narration is created in the background and
appears on the story a little later. - You can edit or unpublish at any time from Write.
That's the whole journey — welcome to OutaStory, and thank you for
testing!
