Über diese Geschichte
Marcelline Halloran runs a two-person business out of a strip-mall office in coastal North Carolina, and her job, such as it is, is talking the dead out of houses their living owners would very much like to sell. When the regional realty firm that keeps her in business books her for a stubborn 1920s bungalow in Beaufort, she expects the usual: a sulking boarder, a contract, a closing. What she walks into on Kirby Lane is older than the house, attached to a man who doesn't know he's carrying it, and complicated by a rival medium from Raleigh, a state disclosure form nobody wants to fill out, and a child's bicycle nobody can explain. A working-medium procedural full of invoices, tea, and the kind of ghosts who negotiate.
