About this Story
Every night at three in the morning, a stretch of the A7 between Hamburg and Hanover fills with cars that do not exist — vehicles from decades past, driven by the dead, racing toward a destination that was erased from every map in 1945. Journalist Noor Kessler follows the phantom traffic and discovers that the road itself remembers what Germany has chosen to forget.
