An OutaStory administrator has invited you to become a speaker —
someone who narrates stories on OutaStory. This guide walks you through
accepting the invitation and getting set up. It only takes a few minutes.
What the invitation is
A speaker invitation means an admin has chosen you to narrate stories on
the platform. The invitation arrives by email and contains a single,
secure link that brings you into your speaker account. Nobody can become
a speaker without an invitation — so if you received one, you're already
cleared to start.
How to accept
- Open the invitation email and click the "Accept invitation" button.
(If an admin sent you the link directly, just open that link instead.) - The link opens your accept page on OutaStory.
- Confirm on that page. That's it — your invitation is now accepted.
Signing in
What you do here depends on whether you already have an OutaStory account:
- You already have an account — just sign in as usual. There's no
password reset and nothing extra to set up; the accept link recognises
your existing account. - Your account is brand-new — the secure link will first ask you to
set a password. Choose your password, and you'll be taken straight
to the accept page afterwards.
After accepting: set up payouts
To get paid for your narration, set up your payout details:
- Go to Profile → Speaker Portal.
- Open Payouts and follow the steps to connect your payout account
(Stripe Connect).
You can reach the Speaker Portal at any time from Profile → Speaker
Portal.
Activation: the final step
Accepting your invitation links your account as a speaker, but you won't
appear in the public speaker marketplace just yet. An admin reviews and
activates your public speaker profile first. Once you're activated,
you become visible in the marketplace and can start receiving offers.
Didn't get the email, or did the link expire?
Invitation links expire for security. If your email never arrived, or the
link no longer works, just ask the admin who invited you to use
Resend invite — they can send a fresh email or copy the invite link
directly to you.
