Credits and your wallet

What credits are, how topping up works, and what you can spend them on.

Updated Aug 19, 2026

Credits are OutaStory's in-app balance. You keep a small pot of them in
your wallet and spend them on paid extras — most commonly narration.

What credits are

Think of credits as a prepaid balance tied to your account. They're the
same wherever you sign in, so a balance you top up in one place is
there in all of them.

Topping up

Open your wallet at /wallet — it shows your current
balance and whichever ways to add more are available to you.

Spending them

Credits are spent on paid features such as narration. When something
costs credits, you'll see the amount before you confirm — nothing is ever
charged without you agreeing to it first.

Credits are separate from a Premium subscription: Premium is a monthly
plan for ad-free reading and audio, while credits are a pay-as-you-go
balance. You can use either, or both.
