This is a sample contest. It exists so we can demonstrate the contest
layout, exercise the publish / unpublish flow, and give testers something
to walk through end to end. No prize will be awarded — please don't
submit a story expecting to win money.
Write a short story set during one quiet hour anywhere in the world. The
story should be readable in a single 8–12 minute reading session. Anything
goes for genre — slice-of-life, sci-fi, mystery, whatever fits your voice.
Stories with strong opening hooks, well-observed setting detail, and a
satisfying close tend to do well in jury-judged contests. Audience voting
then narrows down the jury's shortlist to one winner, so accessible
storytelling helps too.
