OutaStory works with a small set of partners whose products and expertise underpin the platform. We pick them on the same criteria we apply to ourselves: clear contracts, solid engineering, and respect for the people on the other end of the screen.
How a company ends up on this page
This is not a logo wall. Every company below either runs something OutaStory cannot function without, or does work we would otherwise have to do badly ourselves. Two questions decide it: would we still choose them if switching were free, and are we comfortable telling readers their data passes through them? Anyone we would not name here does not get the data.
Which also means this page is short on purpose, and stays short. A supplier that stops being load-bearing comes off it, and a company that never touched a reader's data was never on it.
Microsoft
OutaStory runs on Microsoft Azure. The platform's APIs and background workers run as containers in Azure Container Apps, story text and covers live in Azure SQL and Blob Storage, the catalogue is indexed by Azure AI Search, and the AI behind covers, descriptions and one of our two narration engines is Azure OpenAI, Azure Speech and Azure Content Safety. As a Microsoft Solutions Partner, ThreeB IT — the studio that builds OutaStory — has direct access to Microsoft engineering support and to new cloud capabilities early, which is a large part of why features land here quickly and stay up.
Auth0, an Okta company, is OutaStory's identity provider. Every sign-in, every social login through Google, Apple or Microsoft, and every account-recovery flow goes through Auth0's infrastructure — there is no second, home-grown login path anywhere in the product. Outsourcing identity to a specialist means we never store a password, never reinvent multi-factor authentication, and never have to argue about whether our login is secure enough. Auth0 proved that a long time before we arrived.
ElevenLabs builds what many consider the most natural-sounding AI voices in the world: speech models that carry stress, pacing and emotion instead of sounding like a machine reading aloud. OutaStory runs on an ElevenLabs Grant plan, which gives selected early-stage companies access to that technology, and it does a lot of work here. ElevenLabs is one of our two narration engines alongside Azure Speech, and it is the exclusive engine behind voice cloning, the shared-voice marketplace where authors lend their cloned voice to others, and Ernest — our conversational assistant, which is already live rather than a plan.
ThreeB IT GmbH is the German software studio that builds OutaStory. Founded by Thimo Buchheister and Thorsten Brügge, the firm develops tailored SaaS for industries from training platforms to business-process automation, and OutaStory is one of its long-form bets: every line of code, every UI decision and every release ships from this team. Worth being precise about the two names, because they are not interchangeable — the platform is operated by OutaStory GmbH in Hanover, which is the company named in the imprint and the controller responsible for your data. ThreeB IT builds it; OutaStory GmbH runs it.
Franz + Partner is a German tax-consulting firm that handles OutaStory's bookkeeping, tax filings and audit-readiness work. They run a "digital tax office" model that fits how the business actually operates, which matters more than it sounds: a platform that intends to pay authors a share of its revenue has to be able to account for every cent of it, in a form a German tax office recognises, before the first payout rather than after it.
A handful of other companies process data on our behalf without warranting a logo. Stripe handles subscriptions, credit purchases and author payouts. SendGrid, part of Twilio, sends every email we send — transactional messages, the newsletter, everything. Sentry tells us an error happened before a reader has to. Apple, Google and Amazon validate purchases made inside their apps. LanguageTool checks spelling and grammar in the editor, if an author asks it to.
The complete, current list — who receives what, on which legal basis, and for how long — lives in the privacy policy rather than here, because that is the version we are accountable for keeping accurate. Advertising and analytics vendors are named there too, and none of them receive anything until you have given the matching consent.
