There is nothing to install to get started on the web, and the same account follows you into our apps. Begin a chapter on your phone over coffee and finish it on your laptop that evening — your place is always kept.

Every published story can be read as beautifully typeset text or played as audio. Narration is produced with high-definition neural voices, so even a story that was never recorded in a studio can be enjoyed hands-free on a commute, a walk or a run.

Your home page is personal. As you read, OutaStory quietly learns the genres, authors and story lengths you gravitate towards and arranges fresh recommendations around them — from trending titles in your favourite categories to picks that readers like you also enjoyed.

Browse more than three hundred categories across four levels, from sweeping fantasy and science fiction to fan fiction and the classic canon, and dive straight back into whatever you were last reading from your continue-reading shelf.

Made to be safe for every age

OutaStory is built by a German company under European privacy law, and protecting younger readers matters to us. Stories carry age ratings, and visitors who are not signed in only ever see titles suitable for ages twelve and under — so the catalogue a child encounters is age-appropriate by default.

OutaStory is a place for constructive, respectful exchange. We moderate actively and have no tolerance for insults or hate speech — and we do not allow AI-generated comments, because we want real people connecting with real people over stories that real people wrote.
