Russell Okonkwo is a British-Nigerian writer based in Manchester whose stories pay close attention to the people most fiction overlooks — night-shift workers, taxi drivers, the women who run the canteens at three in the morning. He came to writing through accountancy, which he now refuses to discuss. Twice longlisted for the Caine Prize.
